Letter from the Conference Chairman

Fellow Surveyors,

Under these stressful times, it’s difficult to determine what you’re doing next week, let alone this summer. However, we’re looking forward to you joining us for the 54th Annual Florida Surveying and Mapping Society Conference on August 19th – 23rd!

This year’s great event will occur at the beautiful Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate. This premier meeting and leisure resort is surrounded by 36 holes of championship golf and 15 acres of pools and recreation activities including a lazy river! Additionally, complimentary shuttle transportation is provided to the nearby theme parks. There is truly something for everyone.

The fun begins on Wednesday, August 19th with a variety of seminars, Fishing Tournament and the Welcome Function. Good times will continue on Thursday with the Golf Tournament and Game Night that evening. To better accommodate our vendors, we have a special focus on the Exhibit Hall on Friday. Saturday will include additional opportunities to get your CEC’s. Remember what you said this past February? Don’t wait until the end of the biennium!

Wednesday Welcome Function:

You will be in a world that captures the wonder of aviation and the history of flying machines and feel as if you’ve time-traveled back several eras. Stroll through one of the world’s largest collections of vintage airplanes dating from the early 1900’s including the World War II rare P-51C Mustang and the B-26 Marauder. Begin with themed sight and sound immersion experiences showcasing memorable moments in aviation history. Complete the evening by dining in a South Pacific Island Officers’ Club.
